Maintenance & Repairs

We often forget that after buying a house, the purchase of windows & doors is the next biggest investment we are likely to make.

In order to ensure that your 10 year guarantee remains valid, and that proper care and maintenance are given to your windows and doors, we recommend a cleaning and maintenance schedule as listed below.

1-Locks should be oiled, using a light oil, twice a year. This will ensure smooth movement.

2-Any make of glass cleaner should be adequate to clean the glass. Regular cleaning is the best way to maintain the look of your windows & doors.

3-Cleaning PVC-u Frames. A mild solution of warm water or pure water is ideal for cleaning PVC-u. Never use anything abrasive that could scratch or damage the frame. If in doubt, it is a great idea to employ a window cleaner who is experienced in cleaning PVC products and will have all the correct equipment.

Over time windows, doors & conservatories will deteriorate without correct maintenance. By solving problems as they occur you will save money in the long run. We can carry out general maintenance & repairs on windows, doors & conservatories including, fascia, soffits & guttering.

We carry out full maintenance inspections to look at all your windows, doors & conservatories & provide a full report on any problems that require professional repair.

Windows and Doors in Shades of Grey

Windows and Doors in Anthracite Grey are still an extremely popular colour choice for home owners. There is also a current demand for matching metal guttering in this colour, so with the addition of rain water systems to compliment windows and doors in Anthracite Grey, it is proving to continue as the market favourite for both new builds and refurbished properties.

Probably one of the reasons for its popularity is that Anthracite grey seems to compliment any property new or old, rendered, cladded or brick finished. Giving a contemporary finish to any home.

    Making An Entrance

It’s no surprise that the front door gives the first impression into our homes, our lives and ourselves. After all, the front door is what takes you inside a home and gives the first indication of what to expect next. Welcoming, Cheerful, Charming, Intimidating, Old or New, the front door says a lot about the homeowner.

The structure, period and style of home often dictate the look of the front door.  However, details such as colour, texture, door furniture (knockers, handles, house numbers and letter plates), doormats, plant pots and foliage such as ivy all add to the effect the door creates. Doors can be contemporary and sleek in design or traditional and elegant. So here are a few useful tips to make the most of the exterior of your entrance way:

Some entrances to a home are on the side of a property and not at the front, as you would often expect. Also some houses have 2 doors next to one another so (and this may sound obvious) a path leading to the main entrance is an ideal way not to confuse visitors and lead them to the correct entrance.
